The Commercial Education Trust (CET) is proud to announce the recipient of the prestigious David Coughtrie Leadership Award: Diane Betts. This award, inspired by the exceptional leadership of David Coughtrie, who served as a CET Trustee and Chairman, is a testament to those who have significantly contributed to understanding and improving Commercial Ability within an organization or the wider community. 

Diane Betts - A Paradigm of Leadership 

Diane Betts, with her unparalleled leadership skills and dedication, has markedly increased understanding and the need for Commercial Ability. Her initiatives and strategies at City Gateway have not only transformed the organisation but have also made a profound impact on the community, embodying the essence of this award. Diane's leadership journey, marked by innovation, adaptability, and a deep commitment to social mobility, aligns with the award's core values of leadership and positive change. 

Nick Hennigan - A Commendable Runner-Up 

We also commend Nick Hennigan for being the runner-up in this close competition. His contributions and leadership have been instrumental in driving forward the principles of Commercial Ability, and his recognition as a runner-up is a testament to his exceptional capabilities in his field and being the Chair of the Peter Jones Foundation Youth Panel.  

The David Coughtrie Leadership Award, presented by David Coughtrie and the CET board, carries not just a monetary reward but symbolises the embodiment of effective leadership that resonates with CET's mission. It highlights the importance of leaders like Diane Betts and Nick Hennigan who inspire change and demonstrate a profound understanding of Commercial Ability.
