A New Chapter: CET’s Small Grants Programme Launching January 2025

CET is delighted to announce the upcoming launch of the Small Grants Programme, a fresh and innovative approach to funding that reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering Commercial Ability across the UK.  Designed with agility and flexibility at its core, this new initiative represents a transformative step in how we support charities and organisations dedicated to equipping young people and early-career professionals with the skills they need to thrive and succeed.

Why This Change?

The world is evolving rapidly, and we recognise that traditional funding models often struggle to keep up with the pace of innovation and the growing demands of the sector. Over the past few years, CET has engaged with partners and stakeholders to better understand the challenges facing organisations that develop Commercial Ability.

The message was clear: funding needs to be more responsive, agile, and suited to a fast-moving environment. In response, we’ve created the Small Grants Programme to meet these needs, enabling organisations to adapt quickly, pilot new ideas, and scale impactful initiatives.

What to Expect

The Small Grants Programme will provide funding between £500 and £10,000, supporting projects that align with CET’s mission to advance the five components of Commercial Ability:

  • Basics for Life
  • Sector-Specific Know-How
  • Essential Transferable Skills
  • Workplace Attitudes & Behaviours
  • Organisational Know-How

Whether you’re launching a new project, testing a fresh idea, or seeking additional support for an established initiative, this programme will provide the flexibility and efficiency needed to drive real change.

When and How to Apply

The Small Grants Programme will officially open on 12th January 2025. We invite eligible organisations to apply and take advantage of this exciting opportunity to secure funding for projects that empower young people and make a meaningful impact in the development of Commercial Ability.

For now, we encourage you to start thinking about how your organisation could benefit from this programme. Full details, including application guidance, will be available in January.

Stay Tuned

The launch of the Small Grants Programme marks a new chapter in CET’s history. We’re excited about the opportunities it will create and look forward to supporting innovative projects in the year ahead.

Mark your calendars for 12th January 2025, and be sure to check back for further updates and details. Together, we can help young people gain the skills, confidence, and Commercial Ability they need to succeed and contribute to society.
